Our Non-Pressure Roof Cleaning Process
Our roof cleaning service is performed using a non-pressure soft wash system that safely removes algae, mold, mildew, and black streaks without damaging your shingles. We never use high pressure on roofs because it can remove the protective granules from shingles and shorten the life of the roof. Instead, we use a specialized cleaning solution. This solution kills the organic growth causing the staining.
When we arrive, the first step is protecting your property and landscaping. All plants, shrubs, flowers, and grass around the home are thoroughly pre-rinsed with water to saturate them before any cleaning solution is applied. During the entire roof cleaning process, one technician is dedicated to applying the roof cleaning solution. Meanwhile, a second technician remains on the ground. The second technician continuously rinses landscaping, siding, windows, and any areas that may receive light overspray. As a result, this ensures your plants and property remain protected at all times.
We also take steps to control and manage the runoff from the roof. Downspouts are either bagged or diverted so the cleaning solution does not discharge directly onto plants and landscaping. This allows us to control where the runoff goes and dilute it properly with water.
Once everything is prepared, we apply our roof cleaning solution using our Soft-Wash equipment. The solution is applied evenly across the roof surface at approximately 60psi. There, it begins treating the algae, mold, mildew, and fungus immediately. The Dark Roof Stains will disappear the same day. Organic growth such as moss or lichen will die and rinse off with several hard rains.
After the roof treatment is complete, we perform a thorough final rinse of all landscaping,, and the exterior of the home. We also flush out the gutters to dilute any remaining roof cleaning solution. Additionally, we ensure the entire system is rinsed properly.
